Which diseases do you treat?
We mainly treat dry and wet macular degeneration (retinal degeneration), glaucoma, macular oedema, diabetic retinopathy and retinitis pigmentosa.
How long do I have to wait for an appointment?

Do you adapt the treatment programme to the different diseases?
Yes, of course, the treatment is customised to the individual patient based on the medical history and laboratory tests.
What does the daily routine look like during the two-week therapy?
Eye acupuncture is the basis of the treatment and is also performed twice on each treatment day during the two-week therapy. The additional therapies can always vary slightly.
Normally, the treatment protocol consists of two infusions and two physiotherapies per week. For glaucoma patients, relaxation therapy is also carried out.
What instructions are given for relaxation therapy?
Our relaxation therapist gives each glaucoma patient a meditation that is individually tailored to their needs, which they can also take home with them and practise there.
Are the treatments preferably in the morning or afternoon?
We work all day, i.e. the first appointment is accepted at 9.00 am and the last at 4.00 pm.
Is the therapy a kind of wellness treatment?
I wouldn’t call it a wellness treatment. We stimulate the body to activate its self-healing powers, provide an intensive stimulus every day for a fortnight and patients often feel tired during the treatment.
Does the initial treatment have to be repeated?
As we now also have many patients from abroad or from all over Germany, we recommend various options. For patients who come from further afield and can therefore only visit us once a year, we recommend repeating the two-week treatment.
Others come twice a year for a week and patients from the local area sometimes come monthly.
Are two hours of physiotherapy per week sufficient during the two-week initial treatment?
Yes, physiotherapy is very strenuous for the body and you have to give the body time to implement this new information.
Why is the therapy limited to two weeks?
The therapy is very intensive and it would simply be too much to continue treatment for another week. In addition, the points that we acupuncture after two weeks become very sensitive. In severe cases, however, we recommend acupuncture twice more in the third week and again in the fourth week.
Do the infusions have any side effects?
The infusions generally have no side effects, as we generally only supply the body with what it is lacking. And that is very important for the eyes. Of course, we have to take into account any medication you may be taking, but so far we can only report positive experiences. Without interactions.
How do you compose the infusions?
After a comprehensive blood analysis, we see what the patient is lacking and then put together the infusions. Each patient receives their own individual composition of infusions.
How long does the positive effect of the infusion last?
We replenish the empty stores and then recommend nutritional supplements for the patient to take home.
Can the required substances also be taken non-intravenously – i.e. orally?
Intravenously is always better, of course, as the active ingredients then enter the bloodstream immediately and in almost their entirety.
Why don’t you treat cataracts?
Eye acupuncture does not work as quickly or as well as surgery in the treatment of cataracts. The use of eye acupuncture is particularly advisable if the cataract is accompanied by macular degeneration and the doctor does not want to operate for fear of making the macular degeneration worse.
Acupuncture is used to try to improve the macular degeneration. If this is successful, surgery is advisable.
Should a patient with macular degeneration and glaucoma be operated on for glaucoma or macular degeneration first?
Any surgery on the eye can make macular degeneration worse. We therefore always recommend strengthening and supporting the eye first with Noll’s integrated eye therapy.
Can macular degeneration be triggered by a fall?
Yes, especially if you fall on your head. Macular degeneration is not the disease itself, but a symptom of a disease. Blunt trauma or swelling in the head area can impair blood circulation.
The eye is no longer supplied with blood properly and eye diseases such as macular degeneration can then develop.
What role does nutrition play in this context?
As people get older, they often lack nutrients and the ability to neutralise free radicals. A balanced diet is therefore important to maintain the eye’s defences. A lack of time often plays a role for younger people. They go out or buy ready meals. Naturally, there is a lack of control over the freshness of the food, how it is grown, etc. This can lead to vitamin and mineral deficiencies even at a young age.
How can food supplements help?
As the nutrient content of our food is becoming ever lower, it can be useful to take certain micronutrients in the form of food supplements.
There are a number of scientific studies that show that if the body is adequately supplied with micronutrients, the general risk of disease is reduced or the progression of the disease can be halted or delayed.
Is it possible to control the pressure individually for each eye during treatment for glaucoma patients?
Yes, we have the option of increasing and decreasing the pressure using certain points.
Do I need a doctor’s prescription for the therapy?
No, a doctor’s prescription is not necessary for the therapy, as acupuncture specifically for the eyes is not covered by health insurance.
Can you give my employer a sick note?
We cannot write off sick. If the health insurance is to cover the treatment, the sick note only counts if the patient has the sick note certified by a doctor.
We can issue a certificate for a visit to the practice (for one day). As a rule, this is recognised when someone visits a non-medical practitioner, which shows that the patient really wants to get well and then the employer also supports this.
